Expanded Learning Opportunities Program

Expanded Learning Opportunity Program: Antioch Charter Academy

The Mission and Vision of the Extended Learning Opportunity Programs are to support the work of the Antioch Charter Academy in reaching its Vision, Mission and Graduate Goals and Outcomes. ACA’s three core philosophies will be utilized throughout the ELOP: Montessori, Brain-Compatible Learning, and Positive Discipline by Jane Nelsen.

A component of ACA’s mission is to “nurture and support a partnership of students, teachers, families and the community”, our Priorities for the Extended Learning Opportunity are: safety, physical movement, social skills, nutrition, academic growth, play, attention development, art and sensory integration. In order to nurture the relationship, we feel we need to consider both the ‘Support and Flexibility for ACA families’ and the ‘Commitment and Responsibilities from Families for the School Staff.’

ACA staff created an Expanded Learning Opportunity Program Plan which covers all of ACA’s expanded learning opportunities (CCC, CREW, and STEAM summer camp). We are excited to offer this program free of charge for the first trimester! There is priority on enrollment which goes to students who participate in the Free/Reduced Lunch program, English language learners, and foster youth.

Categories in the plan include: Safe and Supportive Environment, Active and Engaged Learning, Skill Building, Youth Voice and Leadership, Healthy Choices and Behaviors, Diversity, Access, and Equity, Quality Staff, Clear Vision, Mission and Purpose, and more.

The above is general information for the first page.
