Dear ACA Community,
An essential part of ACA’s philosophies are “Going Out Experiences”. Research says that the most effective way for students to learn is through experience. When we leave the classroom, students get the opportunity to experience the real-world that gives them key insight into people’s everyday lives, gain an appreciation for the natural world, and to work with professionals and experts of a variety of fields.
Some of the most exciting Going Out Experiences are our outdoor-ed programs. The students get a chance to experience this two times at ACA. One time in Intermediate and the other time is in Middle School. The Middle School class just got back from Yosemite, which is one of the most beautiful National Parks in the United States. The experiences and knowledge that they are gaining is something that you can only gain by being there.
As a parent, it is important to recognize that “Being There” is extremely important. That is why we make sure that the students have those opportunities throughout their years at ACA.

HIGHLIGHTS 
ELPAC TESTING: February through May is the ELPAC testing window. The ELPAC test is administered to students who are identified as English Language Learners upon enrollment at ACA. Students are tested annually. Students who reclassify will not need to take the test next year. Student scores will be released to parents in June 2026.

ACA Lottery 2026-27: Lottery for ACA I will be conducted Tuesday March 3, 2026. All new students, including siblings of current students, must complete an application for the lottery if they are interested in enrolling in the 2026-27 school year. Students turning 5 years old by September 1, 2026 are eligible for Kindergarten. Students turning 4 years old by September 1, 2026 are eligible for TK. Flag Football: Games are on Thursdays. Boys game time is 3:30 and girls 4:30. All games are played at our opponents’ home field. Come out and cheer for our teams! See attached schedule.
Family Network Meetings are the second Friday of each month at 3pm. The board welcomes and encourages all ACA families to attend the meetings. Check with the calendar. below to find out the next meeting. See attached document for this school’s year schedule
Charter Council: The Charter Council is our governing board. The board meets usually on the second Thursday of the month @ 4PM. Please check the calendar for the next meeting date/time, or call the office at 925-755-7311 to confirm. These meetings are open to the public – all are welcomed!

REMINDERS
School Lunch Order Form – https://forms.gle/
You MUST order meals in advance in order to receive them or else we may not have a meal available for your student. Breakfast and Supper will be the same for all students, while lunch has a menu that you can choose one entree from. No delivery services are allowed on campus.
Absences, Tardies, Leaving Early: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Please make sure to check into the office if your student arrives late. If your student needs to depart early, the person picking up the child must call the office at (925) 755-7311 so the office can retrieve the student prior to walking into the office to sign out their student. Please remember to request an “Independent Study” or “IS” every time you email/call to report an absence. This helps the school, which helps your student!
Clothes Donation Bin: is a great way to have our unclaimed lost and found items find a new home, and it is actually a form of fund raising for the school. When people donate clothes, the owners of the bin, Tree Machine, will give money to the school. The bin is for clothes only. Please make sure to bag the clothes before you put them in the bin. Thank You.

Estimada comunidad de ACA:
Una parte esencial de la filosofía de ACA son las “Experiencias de Salida”. Las investigaciones indican que la forma más efectiva de aprendizaje para los estudiantes es a través de la experiencia. Al salir del aula, los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de experimentar el mundo real, lo que les brinda una perspectiva clave de la vida cotidiana de las personas, les permite apreciar la naturaleza y trabajar con profesionales y expertos de diversos campos.
Algunas de las Experiencias de Salida más emocionantes son nuestros programas de educación al aire libre. Los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de experimentar esto dos veces en ACA: una en el nivel intermedio y la otra en la secundaria. La clase de secundaria acaba de regresar de Yosemite, uno de los parques nacionales más hermosos de Estados Unidos. Las experiencias y el conocimiento que están adquiriendo son algo que solo se puede obtener estando presente. Como padre, es fundamental reconocer que “estar presente” es fundamental. Por eso, nos aseguramos de que los estudiantes tengan estas oportunidades durante sus años en ACA.

ASPECTOS DESTACADOS
PRUEBAS ELPAC: El periodo de evaluación ELPAC es de febrero a mayo. La prueba ELPAC se administra a los estudiantes identificados como Aprendices del Idioma Inglés al inscribirse en ACA. La evaluación se realiza anualmente. Los estudiantes que se reclasifican no tendrán que presentarla el próximo año. Las calificaciones de los estudiantes se publicarán para los padres en junio de 2026.

Sorteo de ACA 2026-27: El sorteo para ACA I se llevará a cabo el martes 3 de marzo de 2026. Todos los estudiantes nuevos, incluidos los hermanos de los estudiantes actuales, deben completar una solicitud para el sorteo si están interesados en inscribirse en el año escolar 2026-27. Los estudiantes que cumplan 5 años antes del 1 de septiembre de 2026 podrán ingresar a kínder. Los estudiantes que cumplan 4 años antes del 1 de septiembre de 2026 podrán ingresar a TK. RECORDATORIOS
Formulario de Pedido de Almuerzo Escolar – https://forms.gle/
Es imprescindible pedir las comidas con anticipación para recibirlas; de lo contrario, es posible que no tengamos una comida disponible para su estudiante. El desayuno y la cena serán iguales para todos los estudiantes, mientras que el almuerzo tiene un menú del cual puede elegir un plato principal. No se permiten servicios de entrega a domicilio en el campus.
Ausencias, Tardanzas, Salidas Tempranas: Si su estudiante va a faltar o llegar tarde, por favor llame a la oficina al 925-755-7311 o envíe un correo electrónico a la clase de su estudiante antes de las 8:00 a. m. Por favor, asegúrese de registrarse en la oficina si su estudiante llega tarde. Si su estudiante necesita salir temprano, la persona que lo recoja debe llamar a la oficina al (925) 755-7311 para que puedan recogerlo antes de que entre a la oficina a registrar su salida. Recuerde solicitar un “Estudio Independiente” o “EI” cada vez que envíe un correo electrónico o llame para reportar una ausencia. Esto ayuda a la escuela, lo que a su vez beneficia a su estudiante.
Contenedor de Donación de Ropa: es una excelente manera de encontrar un nuevo hogar para nuestros artículos perdidos y no reclamados, y también es una forma de recaudar fondos para la escuela. Cuando la gente dona ropa, los dueños del contenedor, Tree Machine, donan dinero a la escuela. El contenedor es solo para ropa. Por favor, asegúrese de embolsar la ropa antes de depositarla en el contenedor. Gracias.
