ICE SKATING TRIP TO TRIVALLEY ICE IN DUBLIN
Our ice skating trip will be on Thursday, February 26th.
The cost is $12 per skater.
Students cost $12. Adults cost $12. Any siblings or other family members cost $12.
PERMISSION SLIPS DUE BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13.
FEBRUARY BREAK NEXT WEEK
There is no school next week, Feb 16-Feb 20.
School resumes on Monday, February 23.

VALENTINE’S DAY IN THE CLASSROOM
Students will be given time on Friday, February 13 to pass out any Valentines they bring to school.
Each carpet has 21 students. There is a total of 63 students in all.
Please only put your child’s name on the Valentines. Please don’t put other students’ names or individualize the cards. Students will not have enough time to go through all 63 students to pass out cards to individual students.
READING DIFFICULTIES RISK SCREENER
Beginning this school year, ALL California public schools are required to use a state approved screener to assess all K-2nd grade students for reading difficulties each school year.
ACA has decided to use the ROAR screener created at Stanford University to screen the 1st -3rd grade students this year. The TK-K students will use a different screener.
ROAR will be sending test administrators to ACA next week to help the teachers and students with this test. Attached to this email is a letter providing more information about ROAR.
Parents can choose to opt out of having their students test data collected for research purposes. The link to opt out of data collection is https://stanforduniversity.
Parents can not opt out of having students take the test. You can only opt out of having the data used in the research of the screener.
ELPAC TESTING
February through May is the ELPAC testing window. The ELPAC test is administered to students who are identified as English Language Learners upon enrollment at ACA. Students are tested annually. Students who reclassify will not need to take the test next year. Student scores will be released to parents in June 2026.

DÍA DE SAN VALENTÍN EN EL AULA
El viernes 13 de febrero, los estudiantes tendrán tiempo para repartir las tarjetas de San Valentín que traigan a la escuela.
Cada alfombra tiene 21 estudiantes. Hay un total de 63 estudiantes. Por favor, escriba solo el nombre de su hijo/a en las tarjetas de San Valentín. No escriba los nombres de otros estudiantes ni personalice las tarjetas. No habrá tiempo suficiente para que los 63 estudiantes las distribuyan individualmente.
EVALUACIÓN DE RIESGO DE DIFICULTADES DE LECTURA
A partir de este año escolar, todas las escuelas públicas de California deben usar una herramienta de evaluación aprobada por el estado para evaluar a todos los estudiantes de kínder a segundo grado en cuanto a posibles dificultades de lectura cada año escolar.
ACA ha decidido usar la herramienta de evaluación ROAR, creada en la Universidad de Stanford, para evaluar a los estudiantes de primero a tercer grado este año. Los estudiantes de preescolar y kínder usarán una herramienta de evaluación diferente.
ROAR enviará administradores de pruebas a ACA la próxima semana para ayudar a los maestros y estudiantes con esta prueba. Se adjunta a este correo electrónico una carta con más información sobre ROAR.
Los padres pueden optar por que los datos de las pruebas de sus hijos no se recopilen con fines de investigación. El enlace para optar por no participar en la recopilación de datos es https://stanforduniversity.
Los padres no pueden optar por que sus hijos no realicen la prueba. Solo pueden optar por que los datos no se utilicen en la investigación de la herramienta de evaluación.
EVALUACIONES ELPAC
El período de evaluación ELPAC es de febrero a mayo. La prueba ELPAC se administra a los estudiantes identificados como aprendices del idioma inglés al matricularse en ACA. Los estudiantes se evalúan anualmente. Los estudiantes que se reclasifiquen no necesitarán realizar la prueba el próximo año. Los resultados de las pruebas se enviarán a los padres en junio de 2026.
