READING DIFFICULTIES RISK SCREENER
Beginning this school year, ALL California public schools are required to use a state approved screener to assess all K-2nd grade students for reading difficulties each school year.
ACA has decided to use the ROAR screener created at Stanford University to screen the 1st -3rd grade students this year. The TK-K students will use a different screener.
ROAR will be sending test administrators to ACA next week to help the teachers and students with this test. Attached to this email is a letter providing more information about ROAR.
Parents can choose to opt out of having their students test data collected for research purposes. The link to opt out of data collection is https://stanforduniversity.
Parents can not opt out of having students take the test. You can only opt out of having the data used in the research of the screener.
ELPAC TESTING
February through May is the ELPAC testing window. The ELPAC test is administered to students who are identified as English Language Learners upon enrollment at ACA. Students are tested annually. Students who reclassify will not need to take the test next year. Student scores will be released to parents in June 2026.

SPIRIT DAY-FRIDAY-PJ DAY
This Friday, February 6, is another student chosen SPIRIT DAY!

PARENT’S NIGHT OUT
This Friday, February 6, the ACA Family Network is offering supervision for your child, from 6pm-9pm, for $20. Activities and food will be provided.
ICE SKATING TRIP TO TRIVALLEY ICE IN DUBLIN
Our ice skating trip will be on Thursday, February 26th.
The cost is $12 per skater.
Students cost $12. Adults cost $12. Any siblings or other family members cost $12.
Permission slips and payments are due by February 13th.
SNACK CALENDAR
A new snack calendar for the months of January and February is attached. Please feel free to either bring in your assigned snack or make a $15 donation for the purchase of the snack and the teachers will do the shopping for you. Thanks for all your support.

EVALUACIÓN DE RIESGO DE DIFICULTADES DE LECTURA
A partir de este año escolar, todas las escuelas públicas de California deben usar una herramienta de evaluación aprobada por el estado para evaluar a todos los estudiantes de kínder a segundo grado en cuanto a posibles dificultades de lectura cada año escolar.
ACA ha decidido usar la herramienta de evaluación ROAR, creada en la Universidad de Stanford, para evaluar a los estudiantes de primero a tercer grado este año. Los estudiantes de preescolar y kínder usarán una herramienta de evaluación diferente.
ROAR enviará administradores de pruebas a ACA la próxima semana para ayudar a los maestros y estudiantes con esta prueba. Se adjunta a este correo electrónico una carta con más información sobre ROAR.
Los padres pueden optar por que los datos de las pruebas de sus hijos no se recopilen con fines de investigación. El enlace para optar por no participar en la recopilación de datos es https://stanforduniversity.
Los padres no pueden optar por que sus hijos no realicen la prueba. Solo pueden optar por que los datos no se utilicen en la investigación de la herramienta de evaluación.
EVALUACIONES ELPAC
El período de evaluación ELPAC es de febrero a mayo. La prueba ELPAC se administra a los estudiantes identificados como aprendices del idioma inglés al matricularse en ACA. Los estudiantes se evalúan anualmente. Los estudiantes que se reclasifiquen no necesitarán realizar la prueba el próximo año. Los resultados de las pruebas se enviarán a los padres en junio de 2026.

NOCHE PARA PADRES
Este viernes, 6 de febrero, la Red Familiar de ACA ofrece cuidado para sus hijos, de 6 p. m. a 9 p. m., por $20. Se proporcionarán actividades y comida.
EXCURSIÓN DE PATINAJE SOBRE HIELO A TRIVALLEY ICE EN DUBLIN
Nuestra excursión de patinaje sobre hielo será el jueves 26 de febrero.
El costo es de $12 por patinador.
El costo para estudiantes es de $12. El costo para adultos es de $12. El costo para hermanos u otros familiares es de $12.
Los formularios de permiso y los pagos deben entregarse antes del 13 de febrero.
CALENDARIO DE MERIENDAS
Se adjunta el nuevo calendario de meriendas para los meses de enero y febrero. Pueden traer la merienda asignada o hacer una donación de $15 para su compra, y los maestros se encargarán de comprarla. Gracias por su apoyo.
