As we head into fall break next week, it’s the perfect time to slow down, recharge, and spend meaningful time with your child.  The transition into a new season offers a valuable opportunity to support emotional well-being and encourage learning in ways that feel fun and natural.

Here are a few simple ideas to try over the break:

• Practice Mindful Moments: Start or end the day with a few minutes of quiet breathing or stretching.

• Explore the Changing Season: Take a walk outside and search for signs of fall -leaves, acorns, animal tacks.  It’s a great way to boost observation skills and connect with nature.

• Cook and Learn: Make simple fall recipes together like pumpkin muffins or pancakes.  Cooking encourages reading, measuring and team work.

• Create a Gratitude Jar: Each day, write down something you’re thankful for and add it to a jar.  It’s a great way to build self-awareness and focus on the positive.

• Read and Talk: Pick a cozy book and read together.  Ask questions like “How do you think the character felt?” or “What would you have done?” to build empathy and comprehension

Fall break is a wonderful time to recharge and reconnect -no busy schedule required.  Just a few intentional moments each day can make a lasting impact.

UPCOMING & ONGOING SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Family Network Meetings are the second Friday of each month at 3pm. The board welcomes and encourages all ACA families to attend the meetings.  Check with the calendar. below to find out the next meeting. See attached document for this school’s year schedule

Charter Council: The Charter Council is our governing board.  The board meets usually on the second Thursday of the month @ 4PM.  Please check the calendar for the next meeting date/time, or call the office at 925-755-7311 to confirm.  These meetings are open to the public – all are welcomed!

FUNdraisers – Ways to Support! 

*Hot Dog Fundraiser! You must turn in the slip with the money attached to the office by Monday, Sept. 29th.  The slip is attached to this email, or you can use the paper copy coming home with your student. On Wednesday, Oct. 1st, the food that you have pre-paid for from Costco will be delivered to your student during lunchtime.

10/02/2025  Order form and payment due. Checks should be made payable to ACA.  Be sure your order form is correctly tallied! Double-check all rows and columns. Late orders will NOT be accepted.

WEEK OF 10/20/2025  Order pick up. Date and time will be communicated after our final order is placed. Watch for announcements!

• Pick up your order as soon as possible.

• WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS REMAINING AS WE DO NOT HAVE STORAGE!

• Remember, if the products thaw out, they can be refrozen.

• Meal Deal Codes are sent via email immediately after purchase. They will NOT be delivered with our Kits.

• Meal Deal Codes do NOT count toward our Kit minimum needed for delivery.

Family Network (FN) – Get Involved!    

The ACA Family Network is made up of ACA adults who volunteer for fundraisers and social events for the enrichment of our children. The money we raise goes back to our school for study trips, family activities, assemblies, and classroom supplies. If you have a child/grandchild/niece/nephew/foster child, etc. at ACA, then come join us & help make a difference!

REMINDERS 

School Lunch Order Form – https://forms.gle/rZ1t5W7mzwJnxkXY8

You MUST order meals in advance in order to receive them or else we may not have a meal available for your student. Breakfast and Supper will be the same for all students, while lunch has a menu that you can choose one entree from.  No delivery services are allowed on campus.

Absences, Tardies, Leaving Early: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Please make sure to check into the office if your student arrives late. If your student needs to depart early, the person picking up the child must call the office at (925) 755-7311 so the office can retrieve the student prior to walking into the office to sign out their student. Please remember to request an “Independent Study” or “IS” every time you email/call to report an absence.  This helps the school, which helps your student!

Clothes Donation Bin: is a great way to have our unclaimed lost and found items find a new home, and it is actually a form of fund raising for the school. When people donate clothes, the owners of the bin, Tree Machine, will give money to the school. The bin is for clothes only.  Please make sure to bag the clothes before you put them in the bin.  Thank You.
