Our school’s Silent Auction is coming up on May 9th. This is a very fun event with lots of great items to bid on. Each grade level is putting together a basket to be auctioned off. The theme of Primary’s basket is “Love your pet.” We need help filling our basket. Donations such as gift cards, pet treats, pet toys, pet clothes, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

As part of on-going efforts to make our school a place that everyone feels understood and included, we are asking families to fill out the following Family Culture Survey created by our parent ELAC committee. It is in English and Spanish. We will share the results at an upcoming Second Cup and ELAC meeting. Thank you! -Mrs. Gonzalez, ELAC coordinator Survey in English https://drive.google.com/open? The week before Spring Break, we introduced sight word “got.” Students practiced reading and spelling words with -og and -op. We also reviewed adding and subtracting on a number line and started the final drafts of our stories for Young Author’s Night. On Friday students made an owl craft, drew an Octopus and went around obstacles on scooter boards.

Kindergarteners: All Kindergarteners need to bring a snack to school in their backpack every day. Please send a healthy snack (no chips, cookies or candy). Also, please do not send a drink. They may only drink water at snack time. They have a water bottle in the classroom that they can drink from. Those who are staying for Cheetah Zone can either order a hot lunch or bring a lunch from home. Transitional Kindergarten (TK): TK students have snack/lunch at 1:20 PM. Some students have signed up for hot lunch. They will eat it then. Students who haven’t ordered hot lunch should bring a lunch from home. Some parents prefer to feed their child lunch early before class and then send a snack. Either works. Please send a healthy lunch/snack and you may send a drink if you would like (no soda). On Fridays, all students should bring a healthy snack.
