3. SPA (Social Political Action) Groups
- Senior Citizens Focus: this Thursday, students who are in this SPA group, will take a trip to the Stoneman Retirement Village to help the clients with the “tech” needs. If you received a request for a Dochub permission form, make sure you sign and return it today. If you did not receive a request, then your student is in another group.
- Mental Health Focus: students in this group are collecting new & gently used backpacks for the mental health patients. Please turn these backpacks in at the office.
4. Need Your Help/Input: Effective communication with parents and guardians in academics can significantly contribute to student success. Regularly sharing important academic information and insights with stakeholders can foster a partnership between teachers and families, leading to enhanced educational outcomes. We would love to hear your thoughts/feedback on improving communication!
You’re welcome to complete the survey multiple times, once for each student, if you’d like.
Week 2 – Entrepreneur & Shark Tank
This unit is a continuation of Human Centered Design (HCD). Students will now take their design from the HCD unit, continue to refine it – or create a new design – and then go through the process of creating a business. At the end of the unit, students will present their business to the class, and then to a Shark Tank (community members).
- Internships/Job Shadows will take place for 3 days on March 17-19th. Students will not come to school, but go to their “jobs”. Students will have a packet that will need to be filled out by their “employers” and themselves to receive a grade for this project. 8th grade students should seek out a different place of business, doing a different job then they did last year. Please see attached documents for details, including letter to parents, letter to give to potential businesses, and a list of past locations. Past locations that have taken students is not a guarantee they will do it again, but it is a place to start. Students need to tell us where they will be interning by next Monday, March 10th (including address, days and times).
