Head’s Up
- Los Angeles trip next payment due this Friday, November 8th (see attached document for payment schedule). Thank you if you already sent it in!
- Guest Speaker: Tomorrow, November 5th, we will have a guest speaker (Ms. Galindo), who is an Immigration Officer with USCIS, come teach our class about the immigration process. Thank you to Ms. Galindo for reading our newsletters, seeing an opportunity, and volunteering to share her expertise with us! We love when our community supports us in the classroom!!
- Make up Picture Day is tomorrow (Tuesday)
- 1st Trimester Report Cards will be emailed home on Friday, November 22nd. Progress reports for this unit will be emailed home at the end of this week.
- Trips out to Family Harvest Farm (experiential learning) will begin in December. Look for more information in future newsletters, including opportunities to drive. Our first trip out will be the whole class, then smaller learning groups afterwards.
- Family Flurry of Fun Raffle Basket! Each class has been asked to donate a basket for the raffle. The theme for the Middle School basket this year is “Day at the Park”. Please look for a SignUp Genius email, and sign up to donate an item for our basket! Thank you in advance!

- Math – CPM, Khan, Math Review, other; assorted due dates (see on Google Classroom), assessment usually on Fridays
- Science (Cells)- in class lab/assignments (becomes homework if they don’t finish in class)
- Interview– due Tuesday
- Membean (vocabulary) – due Fridays
- Literature Book (multiple assignments with due dates): assigned chapters read & Golden Lines due by Thursdays, Literature Circle discussion on Thursdays, RJWs & Reflections due Fridays, assessments on Fridays
- Workshop (writing) – in class assignments/may become homework
- Human Civil Rights Project – students are researching and creating a google slide presentation. Practice presentations are tomorrow, November 5th. See requirements for this project (attached)
