Dear ACA Families,
A student came up to me today and shared with pride, “I always tell my parents please and thank you.” I couldn’t help but smile. In this fast paced world, sometimes manners and how we treat one another can get pushed to the background of importance.
In the primary room we are busy working on the life skills of grace and courtesy. At the kindergarten level this includes holding the door, respecting each other’s bubble of space, using our words, using a calm voice, and of course please/thank you/excuse me and I’m sorry! We believe these are foundational skills that create an environment of value and respect for self and others. Manners help us build positive relationships and can help us navigate challenging situations. We practice and refine these skills throughout the year at all grade levels at ACA. As adults we can help reinforce these skills by modeling, explaining, and encouraging.
Be sure to give your child a thumbs up and some positive feedback when you see them using these skills at home or out in the community :)

MS Fundraiser on Wed Oct. 2nd. Pre order Chick fil-A using the attached slip. Orders are due by Oct 1st. Any profits go towards the Middle School class. This is a student lead fundraiser!

UPCOMING & ONGOING SCHOOL EVENTS 
Charter Council: The Charter Council is our governing board. The board meets usually on the second Thursday of the month @ 4PM. Please check the calendar for the next meeting date/time, or call the office at 925-755-7311 to confirm. These meetings are open to the public – all are welcomed!
FAMILY NETWORK (FN) HAPPENINGS 
The ACA Family Network is made up of ACA adults who volunteer for fundraisers and social events for the enrichment of our children. The money we raise goes back to our school for study trips, family activities, assemblies, and classroom supplies. If you have a child/grandchild/niece/nephew/
Family Network Meetings are the second Friday of each month at 3pm. The board welcomes and encourages all ACA families to attend the meetings. Check with the calendar. below to find out the next meeting.

Popcorn Fridays Volunteers Always Needed! 
We need volunteers to help out with popcorn sales each Friday 2:30pm – 3:30pm
Help set up, make popcorn, sell candy/popcorn and clean-up. Sign up on https://www.trackitforward.
REMINDERS 
School Lunch Order Form – https://forms.gle/
You MUST order meals in advance in order to receive them or else we may not have a meal available for your student. Breakfast and Supper will be the same for all students, while lunch has a menu that you can choose one entree from. Reminder – no outside food delivery services are allowed on campus.
Absences, Tardies, Leaving Early: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Please make sure to check into the office if your student arrives late. If your student needs to depart early, the person picking up the child must call the office at (925) 755-7311 so the office can retrieve the student prior to walking into the office to sign out their student. Please remember to request an “Independent Study” or “IS” every time you email/call to report an absence. This helps the school, which helps your student!
REMIND: This APP is another way for the school to quickly inform you on what is happening on campus. Never miss another minimum day schedule, or a whole school event (example from last year: a power outage that required early dismissal!). You can receive messages through email or through texting (recommended) – you decide! Ask your student’s teacher for their classcode!
Clothes Donation Bin: is a great way to have our unclaimed lost and found items find a new home, and it is actually a form of fund raising for the school. When people donate clothes, the owners of the bin, Tree Machine, will give money to the school. The bin is for clothes only. Please make sure to bag the clothes before you put them in the bin. Thank You.

Estimadas familias de ACA:
Un estudiante se me acercó hoy y compartió con orgullo: “Siempre les digo a mis padres por favor y gracias”. No pude evitar sonreír. En este mundo acelerado, a veces los modales y la forma en que nos tratamos unos a otros pueden quedar en segundo plano.
En el salón de primaria estamos ocupados trabajando en las habilidades para la vida de gracia y cortesía. En el nivel de jardín de infantes, esto incluye sostener la puerta, respetar el espacio de los demás, usar nuestras palabras, usar una voz tranquila y, por supuesto, decir por favor/gracias/disculpe y lo siento. Creemos que estas son habilidades fundamentales que crean un entorno de valor y respeto por uno mismo y por los demás. Los modales nos ayudan a construir relaciones positivas y pueden ayudarnos a navegar situaciones desafiantes. Practicamos y refinamos estas habilidades durante todo el año en todos los niveles de grado en ACA. Como adultos, podemos ayudar a reforzar estas habilidades modelando, explicando y alentando.
Asegúrese de darle a su hijo un visto bueno y algunos comentarios positivos cuando lo vea usando estas habilidades en casa o en la comunidad :)

Consulte el calendario para conocer la fecha y hora de la próxima reunión o llame a la oficina al 925-755-7311 para confirmar. Estas reuniones están abiertas al público: ¡todos son bienvenidos!
ACONTECIMIENTOS DE LA RED FAMILIAR (FN)
La Red Familiar de ACA está formada por adultos de ACA que se ofrecen como voluntarios para recaudar fondos y eventos sociales para el enriquecimiento de nuestros niños. El dinero que recaudamos se destina a nuestra escuela para viajes de estudio, actividades familiares, asambleas y útiles escolares. Si tiene un hijo/nieto/sobrina/sobrino/
