WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23, 2024
READING GROUPS
We will be starting our reading groups this week. All reading groups will be meeting on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, sometime between 9:15 and 10:35. Since reading groups happen in the first hours of our work time, it is important that all students arrive at school on time so that they don’t miss out on their reading group lesson.
CONFERENCE DAYS-MINIMUM DAYS
Thursday and Friday are minimum days for conferences with parents and teachers. Not all parents will have a conference on those two days. If you don’t get a conference time this month, you will be getting scheduled in either October or November.
SCHOOL FAMILIES
This Wednesday is our first School Families day of the year. A School Family consists of 10 students, one from each grade level. The students meet on the last Wednesday of the month, before the Wednesday classes start. The School Families do activities that are planned by the Middle School students in that School Family. Students will also be with their School Family throughout the year such as sitting together during assemblies or other whole school activities.
PICTURE DAY
Picture day is on October 1st. Order forms were sent home with students last Friday. Extra order forms are available in the office.
SCHOOL DANCE
This Thursday is our School Dance for ALL students and family members. Tickets are available through the school office.
PUPPY THERAPY UPDATE
Our class puppy has arrived and has spent a few days in the classroom last week getting familiar with the environment. This week students will start having interaction lessons with the puppy.
PUMPKIN PATCH TRIP-BEING THERE EXPERIENCE-PERMISSION SLIPS
Pumpkin Patch permission slips are due by October 2. Please remember, late permission slips will not be able to order a school lunch for the trip.

GRUPOS DE LECTURA
Esta semana comenzaremos nuestros grupos de lectura. Todos los grupos de lectura se reunirán los lunes, martes y jueves, entre las 9:15 y las 10:35. Dado que los grupos de lectura ocurren en las primeras horas de nuestro tiempo de trabajo, es importante que todos los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo para no perderse su lección grupal de lectura.
DÍAS DE CONFERENCIA-DÍAS MÍNIMOS
Los jueves y viernes son días mínimos para conferencias con padres y maestros. No todos los padres tendrán una conferencia esos dos días. Si no tiene una hora de conferencia este mes, la programarán para octubre o noviembre.
FAMILIAS ESCOLARES
Este miércoles es nuestro primer día de familias escolares del año. Una Familia Escolar está compuesta por 10 estudiantes, uno de cada grado. Los estudiantes se reúnen el último miércoles del mes, antes de que comiencen las clases del miércoles. Las Familias Escolares realizan actividades planificadas por los estudiantes de Escuela Intermedia en esa Familia Escolar. Los estudiantes también estarán con su familia escolar durante todo el año, sentándose juntos durante asambleas u otras actividades escolares completas.
DÍA DE LA FOTO
El día de la fotografía es el 1 de octubre. Los formularios de pedido se enviaron a casa con los estudiantes el viernes pasado. Formularios de pedido adicionales están disponibles en la oficina.
BAILE ESCOLAR
Este jueves es nuestro Baile Escolar para TODOS los estudiantes y familiares. Los boletos están disponibles a través de la oficina de la escuela.
ACTUALIZACIÓN DE LA TERAPIA DE CACHORROS
Nuestro cachorro de clase ha llegado y la semana pasada ha pasado unos días en el aula familiarizándose con el entorno. Esta semana los estudiantes comenzarán a tener lecciones de interacción con el cachorro.
VIAJE AL PARCHE DE CALABAZA-ESTAR ALLÍ EXPERIENCIA-PERMISOS DE PERMISO
Los permisos de Pumpkin Patch deben entregarse antes del 2 de octubre. Recuerde que los permisos tardíos no podrán solicitar un almuerzo escolar para el viaje.
