Dear ACA Families,
With about 3 weeks under our belt in school, I wanted to stress the importance of getting to school on time. School starts at 8:15 and students should be lined up at that time. The campus opens at 7:45 and provides breakfast. Having your student arrive with a little extra time gives them some time to get a bite to eat but also check in with their friends before line up time.
Punctuality plays an important role within our school community. When students arrive on time they start the school day with a sense of readiness and calmness. Most classrooms have a morning routine that is essential to having a productive school day. For example, in the Intermediate classroom, we go over important announcements, our daily schedule, classroom meetings and also in a few weeks, presentations! Our mornings are structured to create a more positive environment within the classroom and it’s important that your student is present.
We understand that delays are sometimes unavoidable. However, by making a consistent effort to get to school on time, we support our students in building habits that will only benefit them and society in the future.
Here are some ideas to help you and your family get to school on time:
Set a Consistent Routine: Regular bedtime and wake up time
Prepare as much as you can the night before: lunches, clothes, backpacks packed
Morning Playlist: Music always makes everything more fun
Minimize distractions: Keep the electronics away. No TV or phones to focus on getting ready for school.
Leave extra time: Build in some extra time to cover the in case there’s road work, delays or forgetting something at home.
These strategies can help establish routines and make mornings less hectic, contributing to their role within your household as well as their role within our classroom and our school.
Thank you so much for your support in getting your student to school on time!

REMINDERS
School Lunch Order Form – https://forms.gle/
You MUST order meals in advance in order to receive them or else we may not have a meal available for your student. Breakfast and Supper will be the same for all students, while lunch has a menu that you can choose one entree from. Reminder – no outside food delivery services are allowed on campus.
Absences, Tardies, Leaving Early: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Please make sure to check into the office if your student arrives late. If your student needs to depart early, the person picking up the child must call the office at (925) 755-7311 so the office can retrieve the student prior to walking into the office to sign out their student. Please remember to request an “Independent Study” or “IS” every time you email/call to report an absence. This helps the school, which helps your student!
REMIND: This APP is another way for the school to quickly inform you on what is happening on campus. Never miss another minimum day schedule, or a whole school event (example from last year: a power outage that required early dismissal!). You can receive messages through email or through texting (recommended) – you decide! Ask your student’s teacher for their classcode!
Clothes Donation Bin: is a great way to have our unclaimed lost and found items find a new home, and it is actually a form of fund raising for the school. When people donate clothes, the owners of the bin, Tree Machine, will give money to the school. The bin is for clothes only. Please make sure to bag the clothes before you put them in the bin. Thank You.
