Head’s Up:

 

  • All Archaeology Archive exhibit pieces are due for peer review this Thursday.  Students are receiving “feedback” and “feedforward”* from their peers, so they can continue to improve their pieces. Final museum quality exhibit pieces with information are due Oct. 1 *Feedforward is a communication technique that provides suggestions for improvement in the future, rather than focusing on past actions or behaviors. It is often used as an alternative to traditional feedback, and can be more positive and constructive.
  • Intramural Flag FootballACA and ACA II 68th graders have an opportunity to play flag football as intramural teams against the other middle schools in Antioch.  There will be a boys team and a girls team.  Tryouts will be October 1st and 3rd. Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 – 5 beginning October 15th.  Games are on Wednesdays and begin October 30th.  More info and a permission slip are being sent home today.  Students must return the permission slip by this Friday so we know if there are enough players to have both a boys team and a girls team.  If you are interested in coaching or being a team parent, please email the office at acaoffice@antiochcharteracademy.org
  • Family Dance on Thursday, Sept. 26th.  This is a FUN event for the whole family!  Make sure to get your tickets from the office.  Our own Mr. Stahler & Mr. Fuller will be manning the grill for this event!

  • TEXT to read: Archaeology Cultures and Topics for Museum Projects : due today
  • Literature Book: “Wild Man Island”; assigned chapters read & Golden Lines due by Thursdays, RJWs & Reflections due Fridays, assessments on Fridays
  • Membean: Complete 3 training sessions of 15 minutes; due Friday
  • Duolingo (language): weekly XP assigned; due Fridays
  • Math:  CPM, Khan, Math Review, other; assorted due dates (see on Google Classroom), assessment usually on Fridays
  • Science (atoms, cells, molecules): participation, journal, projects, labs, etc; due on Science day (assignments not finished in class become homework)
  • Archaeology Museum Project:  students continue to research & create a section of our Archaeology MUSEUM. Create Models, Artifacts, Posters, Timelines, Tri-boards, 3-D maps, Decor, Skits/Movies, slideshows, Games, etc. that cover their assigned topics. Make sure you do an equal amount in your group. Make it look professional with labels, neatness, color, etc.. Requirements are attached. Various due dates, with completed projects due Oct. 1
