Science – In class we will complete a lab and work in groups to research and present topics related to nutrition. Also, there will be a science article to read and answer questions about. Please see Google Classroom for directions if you are absent.
Math – Did you know there are 3 different math classes in Middle School? Most in-class and all homework assignments will be posted in each math class Google Classroom. Paper assignments may be turned into the classroom and do not need to be attached to Google Classroom. In general, all students will have:
*a daily in class assignment, to be done in class, Monday to Thursday
*a daily homework assignment, due the next day, assigned Monday to Thursday
*20 minutes of Fact Fluency practice per week. Mrs. McCutcheon recommends doing it for 5 minutes per day.
*weekly or every other week quizzes
SPA (Social Political Action Project)
This trimester’s big question is, “How can changing habits impact the health of ourselves and our school community?” Students are in one of nine groups based on the health related topic that most interested them. This week, groups are going to research and begin working to make a positive change in the school community. Please ask your student which group they are a part of.
*Teaching a basketball elective to increase the amount of exercise of students at school
*Increasing awareness of importance exercise by leading a walking group at recess
*Increasing awareness of suicide prevention by presenting to classes
*Increasing awareness of and strategies for maintaining mental health
*Increasing awareness of the importance of limiting screen time
*Decreasing the amount of litter on campus
*Raising awareness of the importance of sleep and how to get better sleep
*Teaching students about eating healthier by having a taste testing of fruits and vegetables
*Increasing access to feminine hygiene products in the outdoor restroom

Sign in and complete one Quill activity assigned to you each day. By Thursday students should have completed 4 lessons for the week.
