Greetings MS Families,

We are looking forward to welcoming back ACA students and families this Wednesday.  Here are some important notes:

1.  School starts at 8:15am. but your student should arrive a few minutes before then.  This gives the students time to settle in with friends, use the restroom, and be prepared to start learning when they are called to their class!

2.  This Wednesday, don’t just drop off your student, but park and come to the MU for some goodies at our annual Pastries for Parents event.  You deserve a pastry and a cup of coffee/tea for getting them to school the first day!

3.  Middle School students do not need to bring any supplies on the first day of school.  They will receive their lockers on Thursday, so they can bring supplies on this day.

4.  Remember to plan on attending Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 27 @ 6pm.  Besides learning all about this year’s program, you will hear about our tentatively planned trip to Los Angeles for Spring 2025!!  This is a 2 day whirlwind trip that touches on several curricular themes we cover in Middle School!

5.  Remember to turn in any required paperwork to the office, including the “local field trip” form that will allow your student to join us on our walks around the neighborhood.

6.  If you misplaced the email we sent out in July, please see below.

See you Wednesday!

Dear 2024-25 Middle School Parents,

Welcome to our classroom! We have been busily planning for an exceptional 2024-25 year for your middle school student, and look forward to the start of school on Wednesday, Aug. 21st at 8:15AM!

On Wednesday, August 27 from 6~7pm, please mark Back to School Night for the Middle School Parents on your calendars!  All students need to have at least one parent representative at the meeting. This meeting will help you understand our program, and what we will be asking of both your student(s) and you to help them have a successful school year! Even if you have had Middle School students in our classroom in the past, there is always something new to learn!

The suggested supply list for your middle school student for the coming school year (will need pencil/pen & 1 spiral notebook the first 2 days of school; other materials  will be needed through-out the year):

*3- 1 ½” 3 ring binders, or 1- 3 ½” 3 ring binder

*A calculator

*Four college ruled, spiral bound, single subject notebooks (not wide ruled, multiple subject)

*Graph paper (math)

*Post-its (assorted sizes, including tab).

*Durable tabs for filing for RJW notebooks.

*3 x 5 lined index cards, 5 x 7 index cards: 1-2 packs each.

*Subject dividers

*College ruled binder paper

*Pencils, erasable pens & regular pens (must be blue or black),

*Whiteout, erasers

*Highlighters (4 different colors), black permanent markers, colored pencils

Classroom Needs: (please donate any of these items to our classroom…thanks!) Kleenex, pencils, colored markers, dry erase markers, graph paper, glue sticks, etc.

Chromebook & Literature Books Donations: During the school year, each student will be assigned a classroom Chromebook, and several Literature books. We are asking for a $30 tax deductible donation to help us purchase literature books, and help cover the cost to fix normal “wear & tear” issues for the Chromebooks (this does not cover neglect/misuse/loss of either of these items – guardians are responsible for replacement cost).

Other Important Notes:

  • Please keep an eye out for an email from Dochub.  We will need you to sign several forms (Independent Study, Tech Device Contract, School Issued Materials, and the Experiential Learning Permission Form).

  • We are working on booking study trips for the school year, including trips back out to the Harvest Family Farm!  We always need drivers/chaperones for our trips, so please save a few “vacation days” so you can help us out!.

Looking forward to an incredible year!
