Dear Intermediate Families,
We are so excited to start a brand new school year! Below you will find our Intermediate supply list and information about Meet and Greet. Our first Intermediate Newsletter will be sent out the Monday before school starts and will contain all of the information you will need for the first day of school!
Meet and Greet Monday August 19th
The annual ACA II Meet and Greet will be Monday, August 19th from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Please come by, say hello, and preview the Intermediate classrooms. Students may also drop off their school supplies at the Meet and Greet. You will be able to sign all of your back to school forms, as well as pick sizes for Fantastic Friday shirts at the Meet and Greet!
Remember that the 4th grade home base is Room 4 with Ms. Dubitsky, the 5th grade home base is Room 3 with Mrs. Gonzalez, and the 6th grade home base is Room 2 with Ms. Albertoni. Please make sure your students drop off their supplies in their home base room.

A few reminders about the supply list:
Be sure to pay close attention to the supplies needed for your student’s grade level! The lists are slightly different.
Students will use their Trapper Keepers to keep and organize all of their work for the trimester. It is important that their Trapper Keeper can be closed and zipped so nothing falls out. Students may use the same Trapper Keeper throughout their three years in Intermediate.
Our Yearlong Theme is Discovery
This year our year-long theme is Discovery. We will be studying California history in social studies; weather, the Earth’s elements, heredity, survival and cells in science; and heredity and the human brain in STEM. Our students will continue to work on color coded paragraphs in writing and our Young Authors book will be short stories this year.
We Need Elective Teachers!
We need volunteers to supervise/teach electives for our 4th-8th grade students. This is a vital part of our program allowing students to enjoy and be introduced to varied experiences. Some past popular electives and new ideas include: outdoor sports, board games, photography, recycle art, drama, woodworking, gardening, ultimate Frisbee, cooking, special effects makeup, filmmaking/editing, costume design, choir, zumba, foreign language, fun with science, fundraising, and video game design. We encourage new ideas too!
If you have a special talent you are willing to share or can supervise an activity on one of our elective days, please let us know ASAP. You can email aca2middle@
Electives are offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00. 1st trimester electives will begin the week of September 3rd. You can volunteer for one or multiple trimesters. If you have 10 afternoons available, it is a great way to support our students and get volunteer hours!

¡Estamos muy emocionados de comenzar un nuevo año escolar! Meet & Greet lunes 19 de agosto

Algunos recordatorios sobre la lista de suministros:
¡Asegúrese de prestar mucha atención a los útiles necesarios para el nivel de grado de su estudiante! Las listas son ligeramente diferentes.

Estudiaremos la historia de California en estudios sociales; el clima, los elementos de la Tierra, la herencia, la supervivencia y las células en la ciencia; y la herencia y el cerebro humano en STEM. Nuestros estudiantes continuarán trabajando en párrafos escritos codificados por colores y nuestro libro de Autores Jóvenes será de cuentos este año.
¡Necesitamos maestros electivos!
Necesitamos voluntarios para supervisar/enseñar materias optativas para nuestros 4th-8th estudiantes de grado. Esta es una parte vital de nuestro programa que permite a los estudiantes disfrutar y conocer experiencias variadas. Algunas asignaturas optativas populares anteriores y nuevas ideas incluyen: deportes al aire libre, juegos de mesa, fotografía, arte reciclado, teatro, carpintería, jardinería, Ultimate Frisbee, cocina, maquillaje de efectos especiales, realización/edición de cine, diseño de vestuario, coro, zumba, idioma extranjero, diversión. con ciencia, recaudación de fondos y diseño de videojuegos. ¡También fomentamos nuevas ideas!

Las materias optativas se ofrecen los lunes, martes, miércoles y jueves de 2:00-3:00. 1calle las optativas trimestrales Comienza la semana del 3 de septiembre. Puedes ser voluntario durante uno o varios trimestres. Si tiene 10 tardes disponibles, ¡es una excelente manera de apoyar a nuestros estudiantes y obtener horas de voluntariado!
