Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students in the Walkathon this last Wednesday! And thank you to the parent volunteers that made this event possible. The students had so much fun and were able to raise lots of money for our school!
Being a small school we really rely on parent involvement to make school events like the Walkathon so successful. If you are interested in helping- but are unsure of how to do so, here are some ways to get involved:
-Attend family network meetings- every second friday of the month
-Sign up to help in the Primary classroom on Wonderful Wednesdays
-Get on track it forward to sign up for events or make donations
-Sign up to teach an elective
We are fortunate to have such a small school community- but we are always looking for ideas on how to improve, add new events to host or fun ways to fundraise. Please reach out to the Family Network at acafamilynetwork@

2024-25 Student Intent to Return: To secure your child’s placement for the upcoming 2024/ 2025 school year, please fill out the information below no later than May 1, 2024.
Please also include your student’s T-Shirt size for their 2024/2025 Wonderful Wednesday T-Shirt. Your student will receive this shirt in August.

STEAM Camp Sign Ups: Please join us this summer for our STEAM Camp and our new 6th-8th grade Leadership Camp! We will be hosting 6 free sessions this year, with the last session hosted at ACAII. This summer camp is for our currently enrolled students. Our goal is to get students inspired to learn through fun, hands-on activities!
The Camp’s main programming will take place from 8a-12p and from 12 – 4pm, the camp will be focused on recreation participation, not competition, with an emphasis on learning, fun, teamwork, being involved, and having new experiences. Half Days are from 8am-12pm and Full Days are from 8am-4pm.
Session 1 American Gladiator week = 6/17 – 6/21 (No Camp on 6/19 holiday)
Session 2 Monster Mash week = 6/24 – 6/28
Session 3 Man v. Wild week = 7/8 – 7/12
Session 4 ACA’s Got Talent = 7/15 – 7/19
Session 5 Iron Chef Week = 7/22 – 7/26
Session 6 offered at ACAII (1201 W. 10th St.) = 7/29 – 8/2
***NEW*** Leadership Camp: For 6th – 8th grade students only:
Leadership Camp is designed to empower and inspire our students to become confident, capable leaders in our school and communities. The camp focuses on developing key leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving. During camp, students will participate in a variety of activities and workshops that challenge them to step out of their comfort zones and take on leadership roles. These activities may include team-building exercises, outdoor adventure challenges, public speaking practice, and leading STEAM camp activities.
Spaces are limited, so please indicate the week(s) you are interested in, and either half or full day options. We will send out a confirmation to you in May, letting you know if you got in! Be sure to complete the registration paperwork that will be emailed to you prior to your session.
Cancellations: Please let us know IMMEDIATELY if you are no longer able to attend a week, so we can offer your spot to the students on the waiting list.
Parents – if you would like to come out to camp and volunteer during these weeks, please let us know! You guys are always a great addition!!

Charter Council: The Charter Council is our governing board. The board meets usually on the second Thursday of the month @ 4PM. Please check the calendar for the next meeting date/time, or call the office at 925-755-7311 to confirm. These meetings are open to the public – all are welcomed!
FAMILY NETWORK (FN) HAPPENINGS 
The ACA Family Network is made up of ACA adults who volunteer for fundraisers and social events for the enrichment of our children. The money we raise goes back to our school for study trips, family activities, assemblies, and classroom supplies. If you have a child/grandchild/niece/nephew/
Family Network Meetings are the second Friday of each month at 3pm. The board welcomes and encourages all ACA families to attend the meetings. Check with the calendar below to find out the next meeting.
Family Network Wish List: We have created a Family Network wish list on Amazon. If you’d like to donate any of these “Wish List” items we would greatly appreciate it. These items are needed throughout the school year. Pick the items and pay for them and Amazon will ship directly to the school.

Popcorn Fridays Volunteers Always Needed! 
We need volunteers to help out with popcorn sales each Friday 2:30pm – 3:30pm
Help set up, make popcorn, sell candy/popcorn and clean-up. Sign up on https://www.trackitforward.
REMINDERS 
School Lunch Order Form – https://forms.gle/
You MUST order meals in advance in order to receive them or else we may not have a meal available for your student. Breakfast and Supper will be the same for all students, while lunch has a menu that you can choose one entree from. Reminder – no outside food delivery services are allowed on campus.
Absences, Tardies, Leaving Early: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Please make sure to check into the office if your student arrives late. If your student needs to depart early, the person picking up the child must call the office at (925) 755-7311 so the office can retrieve the student prior to walking into the office to sign out their student. Please remember to request an “Independent Study” or “IS” every time you email/call to report an absence. This helps the school, which helps your student!
REMIND: This APP is another way for the school to quickly inform you on what is happening on campus. Never miss another minimum day schedule, or a whole school event (example from last year: a power outage that required early dismissal!). You can receive messages through email or through texting (recommended) – you decide! Ask your student’s teacher for their classcode!
Clothes Donation Bin: is a great way to have our unclaimed lost and found items find a new home, and it is actually a form of fund raising for the school. When people donate clothes, the owners of the bin, Tree Machine, will give money to the school. The bin is for clothes only. Please make sure to bag the clothes before you put them in the bin. Thank You.
Parking Lot Safety – Let’s Keep ALL Our Students, Staff & Families SAFE!
SLOW DOWN
Everyone needs to use crosswalks!
Listen to the staff’s instructions – they are trying to keep everyone safe, and to keep drop off/pick up running smoothly.
Do not tell your students to cut through the parking lot to reach you – cars that are backing up may not see your student.
When it is your turn to enter the carpool lane, pull all the way forward, so up to 6 vehicles can load/unload their charges at a time.
Do not move forward in the carpool lane until all children have entered/exited their vehicles in front of you – a fender bender could severely injure a child who is partially in a vehicle.
When leaving the parking lot, please drive the speed limit so our students walking to school are safe.
Thank you for keeping everyone safe – remember picking up/dropping off is only a few minutes out of your day, but an injury could last a lifetime!!

¡Gracias a todos los que vinieron a apoyar a nuestros estudiantes en la Caminata del miércoles pasado! Y gracias a los padres voluntarios que hicieron posible este evento. ¡Los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho y pudieron recaudar mucho dinero para nuestra escuela!
Al ser una escuela pequeña, realmente confiamos en la participación de los padres para que eventos escolares como la Caminata sean tan exitosos. Si está interesado en ayudar, pero no está seguro de cómo hacerlo, aquí tiene algunas formas de participar:
-Asistir a reuniones de la red familiar- cada segundo viernes del mes.
-Apúntate para ayudar en el aula de Primaria los Miércoles Maravillosos
-Póngase en marcha para inscribirse en eventos o hacer donaciones
-Regístrese para impartir una materia optativa.

Inscripciones al Campamento STEAM: ¡Únase a nosotros este verano para nuestro Campamento STEAM y nuestro nuevo Campamento de Liderazgo para grados 6º a 8º! Este año organizaremos 6 sesiones gratuitas, la última sesión se realizará en ACAII. Este campamento de verano es para nuestros estudiantes actualmente matriculados. ¡Nuestro objetivo es inspirar a los estudiantes para aprender a través de actividades prácticas y divertidas!
La programación principal del Campamento se llevará a cabo de 8 a 12 p.m. y de 12 a 4 p.m., el campamento estará enfocado en la participación recreativa, no en la competencia, con énfasis en el aprendizaje, la diversión, el trabajo en equipo, involucrarse y tener nuevas experiencias. Los medios días son de 8 a. m. a 12 p. m. y los días completos son de 8 a. m. a 4 p. m.

***NUEVO*** Campamento de liderazgo: solo para estudiantes de 6.° a 8.° grado:
El Campamento de Liderazgo está diseñado para empoderar e inspirar a nuestros estudiantes para que se conviertan en líderes seguros y capaces en nuestra escuela y comunidades. El campamento se centra en desarrollar habilidades clave de liderazgo, como comunicación, trabajo en equipo, toma de decisiones y resolución de problemas. Durante el campamento, los estudiantes participarán en una variedad de actividades y talleres que los desafían a salir de su zona de confort y asumir roles de liderazgo. Estas actividades pueden incluir ejercicios de formación de equipos, desafíos de aventuras al aire libre, práctica de hablar en público y dirección de actividades de campamento STEAM.
Los espacios son limitados, así que indique las semanas que le interesan y las opciones de medio día o día completo. ¡Le enviaremos una confirmación en mayo, informándole si ingresó! Asegúrese de completar la documentación de registro que se le enviará por correo electrónico antes de su sesión.
