Research Project Presentations are THIS week!
Research presentations for all students are this week!! Presentations will take place in SSR groups between 12:45 and 2:00 Monday-Thursday of that week. Remember that presentations should be about 3-5 minutes long (no longer than 7 minutes for older students) and students are expected to present 3-4 of their performances.
Halloween Party
Intermediate’s Halloween Party will be on Tuesday October 31st from 10:00-12:00. The party is being organized by the students in the Halloween Party Committee. We will need a few parent volunteers the day of the party to help with supervising food and games. If you would like to volunteer that day, please let Ms. Dubitsky know via email. The Intermediate students are also in charge of bringing in food to share.
Some students have signed up to bring snacks to school for the party! Please check in with your student to see if they signed up to bring food!
Halloween Costume Reminders
Students are allowed to wear Halloween costumes to the Halloween Party on the 31st. Please remember that all school dress code rules apply to costumes. In addition, students may not wear costumes with excessive gore or a Halloween mask that covers their whole face. Students should be able to walk and move around normally in their costume. Weapon accessories are also banned from the Halloween Party and should not be brought to school.
Research Project Binders are due next week!
Please remind your student that their completed research binder is due next week. Students should be completing the research project’s last performance this week and preparing for their presentation. Next week’s assignment will be the finishing touches and turning the binder in. Remember that all performances need to be represented in the binder. Pictures of body performances or nature performances that are too large for the binder are just fine, especially with a short description!
Last day to turn in missing work is Friday November 3rd!
The end of the trimester is quickly approaching and all old missing work from earlier in the trimester must be turned in by November 3rd in order to receive credit. This includes all previous assignments from skills groups and specialty groups!
Instrumental Music students should be practicing at home!
A friendly reminder for all students in instrumental music: you need to practice your instrument as much as possible! This helps you become a better musician! Please schedule time in your week to practice. All instruments must be taken home from school everyday for students to practice. Please do not leave your instrument at school overnight.
Intermediate Scholastic Book Order
This is our first Intermediate Scholastic Book Order of the year! Book orders will be due on Friday, October 27th. For all Intermediate book orders, we are doing online orders only. This helps us track student orders and make sure your student receives all of their books. Online ordering is quick and easy! Here are the instructions:

English Learner Advisory Committee/Comité Asesor de Padres (ELAC)
ACA2 is excited to announce the development of our English Learner Advisory Committee/Comité Asesor de Padres (ELAC). The English Learners Advisory Committee/Comité Asesor de Padres (ELAC) makes recommendations regarding programs for students with second language needs. The purpose of the ELAC is to provide parents of English Learners opportunities to:
Learn more about the programs offered to their children
Participate in the school’s needs assessment of students, parents, and teachers
Provide input in the most effective ways to support full participation of English Learners in all school activities
Provide input on the most effective ways to ensure regular school attendance
ACA2 is looking for parents of our English Language Learners to participate in this committee to provide their unique input on the learning needs of their students and how to make our school more culturally inclusive. This committee will also include parent training on how to best navigate the school system for their student(s).

¡Las presentaciones de proyectos de investigación son ESTA semana!
¡¡Las presentaciones de investigación para todos los estudiantes son esta semana!! Las presentaciones se realizarán en grupos de SSR entre las 12:45 y las 2:00 de lunes a jueves de esa semana. Recuerde que las presentaciones deben durar entre 3 y 5 minutos (no más de 7 minutos para estudiantes mayores) y se espera que los estudiantes presenten entre 3 y 4 de sus presentaciones.
Fiesta de Halloween
La fiesta de Halloween de Intermedio será el martes 31 de octubre de 10:00 a 12:00. La fiesta está siendo organizada por los estudiantes del Comité de Fiesta de Halloween. Necesitaremos algunos padres voluntarios el día de la fiesta para ayudar con la supervisión de la comida y los juegos. Si desea ser voluntario ese día, infórmeselo a la Sra. Dubitsky por correo electrónico. Los alumnos de Intermedio también son los encargados de traer comida para compartir.
¡Algunos estudiantes se han inscrito para traer bocadillos a la escuela para la fiesta! ¡Por favor consulte con su estudiante para ver si se inscribió para traer comida!
Recordatorios de disfraces de Halloween
Los estudiantes pueden usar disfraces de Halloween para la fiesta de Halloween del día 31. Recuerde que todas las reglas del código de vestimenta de la escuela se aplican a los disfraces y los estudiantes deben usar su mascarilla de tela normal o quirúrgica en todo momento. Además, los estudiantes no pueden usar disfraces con excesiva sangre o una máscara de Halloween que cubra toda su cara. Los estudiantes deben poder caminar y moverse normalmente con su disfraz. Los accesorios de armas también están prohibidos en la fiesta de Halloween y no deben traerse a la escuela.
¡Las carpetas de proyectos de investigación deben entregarse la próxima semana!
Recuerde a su estudiante que su carpeta de investigación completa debe entregarse la próxima semana. Los estudiantes deberían completar la última presentación del proyecto de investigación esta semana y prepararse para su presentación. La tarea de la próxima semana será dar los toques finales y entregar la carpeta. Recuerde que todas las actuaciones deben estar representadas en la carpeta. Las imágenes de representaciones corporales o de la naturaleza que son demasiado grandes para la carpeta están bien, ¡especialmente con una breve descripción!
¡El último día para entregar el trabajo faltante es el viernes 3 de noviembre!
El final del trimestre se acerca rápidamente y todo el trabajo antiguo faltante de principios del trimestre debe entregarse antes del 3 de noviembre para poder recibir crédito. ¡Esto incluye todas las asignaciones anteriores de grupos de habilidades y grupos de especialidad!
¡Los estudiantes de Música Instrumental deberían practicar en casa!
