Elementary CAASPP Testing:
3rd grade students are taking the California state assessments (CAASPP) for Math and English Language Arts THIS week. Students will take only one assessment per day. 3rd grade testing will occur in the morning and the afternoons will stay the same. Make sure students are on time, as testing will begin at 8:30 sharp. 3rd grade students need a good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast. Please contact Mrs. Chapman with specific questions about CAASPP testing.

DRESS CODE:
As the weather warms up, please make sure that all clothing is “School Appropriate”. Please no bare midriff shirts, see through clothing, strapless sandals (Closed toed shoes are required for recess and PE), short shorts (shorts should come to mid thigh), spaghetti strap tops, or sagging pants and/or exposed underwear. Students who come to school with clothing that is not appropriate for school will be asked to call home for a change of clothes or will have to choose appropriate clothing from the extra clothing bin. If you are unsure of the dress code regulations, please consult the family handbook.
Allergies:
If your student has seasonal allergies and takes medication please remember to give it to them. It is that season where the trees are blooming and the grass is growing. The grass is getting cut regularly. If you give them a 24 hour medication and are worried about them being tired, try giving them the medication at night.

Skip counting is an incredibly useful skill that allows children to increase their fluency with math facts. Here is a link to some fun songs that help kids master skip counting! https://www.youtube.com/
Sight words for each child are sent home on Monday and they are quizzed on Thursday to see what they’ve accomplished! Please check your child’s folder or goal book for their specific sight words.

Pruebas CAASPP de primaria:
3er grado los estudiantes están tomando las evaluaciones del estado de California (CAASPP) para Matemáticas y Artes del Lenguaje Inglés ESTA semana. Los estudiantes tomarán solo una evaluación por día. Las pruebas de 3er grado se realizarán por la mañana y las tardes seguirán siendo las mismas.Asegúrese de que los estudiantes lleguen a tiempo, ya que las pruebas comenzarán a las 8:30 en punto.. Los estudiantes de 3er grado necesitan una buena noche de descanso y un desayuno saludable. Comuníquese con la Sra. Chapman si tiene preguntas específicas sobre las pruebas CAASPP.

CÓDIGO DE VESTIMENTA:

Alergias:
Si su estudiante tiene alergias estacionales y toma medicamentos, recuerde dárselos. Es esa estación en la que los árboles florecen y la hierba crece. El césped se está cortando regularmente. Si le das un medicamento de 24 horas y te preocupa que esté cansado, trata de darle el medicamento por la noche.
