Wednesday is Pajama Day for Intermediate!
Intermediate students can wear clean pajamas to school on Wednesday for our holiday celebrations! Please make sure they wear clean pajamas and appropriate shoes!
Intermediate International Potluck is this Wednesday!
International Potluck is this Wednesday! As a reminder, each student is asked to bring in a dish, labeled with the name of the dish and main ingredients, that is special to their family. It can be their favorite food, a family recipe, or a special cultural recipe that they’d like to share. Students are encouraged to bring in main dishes, not desserts (which will be provided by the teachers). If you have questions about what to bring, be sure to ask your student’s skills group teacher.
Here are some things to remember:
Intermediate is peanut and tree nut free! Please do not include peanuts or tree nuts of any kind in your dish. There are also students with egg allergies. If you have eggs in your dish, please label it as including eggs.
Students are expected to bring their dish to school with them at the beginning of the day (unless their parent is volunteering and they are bringing it later). All food must be in Mrs. Gonzalez’s room by 9:00!
If your dish requires serving spoons or bowls, please send them with your child (and please label them!). We have plates, napkins, and silverware for the students.
Students from other levels are not allowed to participate in the International Potluck as they will be having their own activities with their level.
For volunteers:
Please let us know if you are planning on volunteering! So far we have had only a few volunteers let us know they are coming!
We would like all volunteers to be at school by 9:00am to help set up! Please meet in Mrs. Gonzalez’s room.
It’s time for the Secret Santa Christmas Gift Exchange
Just a reminder that each student will purchase a small gift for the person whose name they drew. The maximum cost should be no more than $15, which includes the price of wrapping the gift. If your student needs help with gift ideas or is unable to participate, please let us know right away. The gift exchange will take place right before the International Potluck on Wednesday December 21st. All students must bring their gift on that day. If your student is sick on Wednesday, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make sure everyone gets a gift!
If your student is absent from school, but well enough to join us on Zoom please help get them on. Below are the links for all Intermediate classes. From 9:00 – 11:00 have them connect with their Skills Group teacher. From 11:00- 12:00 they should connect with their Specialty Group teacher.

A Note from Mrs. Vela:
Musicians cannot “take a break” without it harming their playing! Practice regularly for our January 26 Winter Concert!!
A friendly reminder for all students in instrumental music: you need to practice your instrument as much as possible! This helps you become a better musician! Please schedule time in your week to practice. All instruments must be taken home from school everyday for students to practice. Please do not leave your instrument at school overnight.

¡El Potluck Internacional Intermedio es este miércoles!
Potluck internacional es este miércoles! Como recordatorio, se le pide a cada estudiante que traiga un plato, etiquetado con el nombre del plato y los ingredientes principales, que sea especial para su familia. Puede ser su comida favorita, una receta familiar o una receta cultural especial que les gustaría compartir. Se alienta a los estudiantes a traer platos principales, no postres (que serán proporcionados por los maestros). Si tiene preguntas sobre qué traer, asegúrese de preguntarle al maestro del grupo de habilidades de su estudiante.
Aquí hay algunas cosas para recordar:
¡El intermedio no contiene maní ni nueces de árbol! Por favor, no incluya cacahuetes o frutos secos de ningún tipo en su plato. También hay estudiantes con alergias al huevo. Si tiene huevos en su plato, etiquetarlo como que incluye huevos.

Solo un recordatorio de que cada estudiante comprará un pequeño regalo para la persona cuyo nombre dibujaron. El costo máximo no debe ser más de $15, que incluye el precio de envolver el regalo. Una nota de la Sra. Vela:
Los músicos no pueden “tomar un descanso” sin que perjudique su forma de tocar! ¡Práctica regularmente para nuestro Concierto de Invierno del 26 de enero!
Un recordatorio amistoso para todos los estudiantes de música instrumental: ¡necesitas practicar tu instrumento tanto como sea posible! ¡Esto te ayuda a convertirte en un mejor músico! Por favor programe tiempo en su semana para practicar. Todos los instrumentos deben llevarse a casa de la escuela todos los días para que los estudiantes practiquen. Por favor, no deje su instrumento en la escuela durante la noche.
