* Farm Visit to the Family Harvest Farm (Pittsburg) for experiential learning: The 3rd group will be going out Thursday, March 17 from 9:30am – 12pm. We could use 2-3 more drivers for this trip (must be able to take a minimum of 3 students). If you can drive, please let us know (school procedures apply for drivers, including Covid protocol). Make sure your student is dressed appropriately for working on a farm! The rest of the students will have a normal school day.

*Mock Interviews this Thursday, 3/10. Thank you to Mr. Cruz, Mrs. Pope, Mr. Nakayama, and Mrs. Smith for volunteering to interview students!
*Internship/Job Shadow: Instead of coming to school, middle school students will go to their “jobs” on March 21-23rd. Students need to tell us where they will be working by March 17th. Students will have an Internship packet which they, and their supervisor, need to fill out. Filled out packets need to be turned in on Thursday, March 24th (grade for this project is based on the completed packet).
*Next week is Minimum Days: if you would like to have a conference, please let us know!

Current Events #2: “My Future Dream Board” Poster Project:
Create a collage of photos of events that you want to occur in your future or that inspire you to create an amazing future for yourself. Due Thursday
Writing: Write a diary entry as your book’s main character. Include an important event, his thoughts and feelings, and his understanding of the event. Relate the whole entry to something that actually occurred in the novel. Due Friday
Literature: read assigned pages, and do Reflection. Reading done by Thursday, Reflection due on Friday, Quiz on Friday
RJW#2: due on Friday
Math: Daily assignments, including classwork & homework. Assorted due dates, & assessments are usually on Fridays.
Science: “Earth Systems”- assorted assignments & due dates
Writer’s Workshop: Portfolio of writing assignments Due in April
Career Project: Students
should be working through the 10 “Tasks”, including setting up an interview & a site visit of their chosen career. Presentations begin April 11th.
Passion Project: yearlong project with assorted benchmarks/due dates. Students are given an hour a week in class to work on this project. Ask what their focus is on. Ask your student how they are doing on the project!
