Newsletter for Antioch Charter Academy/TLCS Families and Staff Volume 25, Issue 11, November 2, 2020

Dear ACA Families,

If you will be stopping by our campus anytime soon you will be greeted by a familiar face.  I am happy to announce that our dear Andi Stahler is back in the office everyday 8am-12pm!  While she was caring for her new baby boy Miles and his big brother Copper, we had some other amazing folks helping out.  On behalf of everyone, I  would like to thank Margaret, Natally, and Ms. McLean for filling in while Andi was on her leave.  You ladies are the best and we appreciate all that you do.

WELCOME BACK MRS. STAHLER!

Regards,

Mrs. Cerecedes

The money we raise goes back to our school for study trips, family activities, assemblies, and classroom supplies. If you have a child/grandchild/niece/nephew/etc. at ACA, then come join us & help make a difference!

Family Network Events:

Dear ACA Families,

We are excited to be holding our second annual Sherwood Forest Farms Wreath Fundraiser! This year we are offering large and small wreaths, table centerpieces, and a reindeer decor set.

Orders can be placed from October 26 – November 6 at http://sherwoodfundraiser.com/ACA2020.

Items ordered will be available for pick up at the school December 7 – 9. More details on pick up times will be published as those dates get closer.

Please share the website with your family and friends! They can help support our school by purchasing winter and holiday decorations!

REMINDERS

Grab & Go Meals: Thanks to an extension of the Summer Feeding waiver from the USDA, all students from ACA I & II (and any siblings 18 and under) may pick up a bag containing FREE breakfast, lunch, supper and a snack M-F from any one of our 12 feeding sites.  The waiver is good through the end of December.  Please visit https://www.antiochschools.net/nutrition-services for the list of sites and menus.

Charter Council: the Charter Council is our governing board.  The board meets on a monthly basis – usually the first Thursday of the month @ 4PM.  Please check the calendar for the next meeting date/time, or call the office at 925-755-7311 to confirm.  These meetings are open to the public – all are welcomed!

Absences and Tardies – Daily Attendance is expected: If your student will be absent, or tardy, please call the office at 925-755-7311, or email your student’s classroom, before 8:00am. Even though we are currently doing Distance Learning, roll is still taken EVERY DAY.

Updates on Distance Learning and Reopening: ACA I and II will continue with fully Distance Learning until the November break.  This means ALL students will be distance learning through November 20th. We continue to evaluate the situation and are working to prepare the site and staff for in person learning, with the introduction of phased in student cohorts in a safe manner.
