New – Weekly Progress Reports for Humanities & Math

via Google Classroom

Sometime today, you will be receiving email requests from ACA Middle School (Classroom) inviting you as a Guardian for your student.

As a guardian, you can get weekly email summaries about your student’s activity in Classroom. Email summaries do not include grades, and does not let you know if your student turned in missing assignments – it is only for the current week.  Also, it may not include additional in class assignments, especially participation oriented assignments.

This email summary is to be used as a tool alongside the weekly newsletter from us.  Please make sure you look at the assignments that are listed in the MS Newsletter to help you keep track of what your student is being asked to accomplish. If you have any questions, or you need additional information, please feel free to email us.

In weekly email summaries, you can review

Missing work—Work not turned in when the summary was sent.

Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and that’s due in the upcoming week.

Class activities—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers.

Additional Information

Sometimes students become overwhelmed, and will submit a blank page, just so it does not show up as “missing”.  If this occurs, we communicate with the student that this is not acceptable, and we change the grade back to missing.  If it occurs again, we will notify you, and ask for your support in helping your student understand a blank page is a 0, and will be reflected as such on their report card.

How to Sign On (from website)

You can get email summaries sent to any email address. However, to view or update email summary settings, you need a Google Account. With a Google Account, you can change the frequency of your emails, update your time zone, see the students connected to your account, and unsubscribe from email summaries. For details, go to Create a Google Account.

If you unsubscribe from email summaries, you’re still connected to a student as long as you have a Google Account. Otherwise, unsubscribing removes you as a guardian.

Get email summaries  (Please choose weekly summaries, not daily)

To get email summaries of your student’s work, you must accept an email invitation from a teacher or administrator. You have 120 days to accept an invitation before it expires. You can unsubscribe from summaries or remove yourself as a guardian at any time.

The teacher or administrator emails you an invitation to join your student’s class.

In your email program, open your email invitation.

Click Accept.

If you’re not the guardian, click I’m Not The Guardian.

Click Accept

When you accept an invitation, you and your student get an email confirmation.
