Humanities – Last week of unit means finals:
  • Humanities Unit (Food) Final: Friday
  • Writing Assignment #5: write a letter of intent/cover letter & resume; final drafts due Friday
  • Current Events Assignments: Home Cooking Project; due Thursday
  • Reading & Reflections (Literature book The Omnivore’s Dilemma); due Friday
  • MobyMax Language: 30 minutes; due Fridays
  • RJW #8 (based on nonfiction book); due Thursday
  • Writer’s Workshop – work on portfolio/reflections & additional writing assignments (see attached document for YA Portfolio assignment)
  • Passion Project – researching and working through requirements
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments

Math: 

  • Math Homework (CPM/Other) – every day
  • MobyMax and/or Khan: 45 minutes a week, due on Mondays
  • Fact Fluency: 20 minutes a week (until tested out), due on Fridays
  • Fridays: math quizzes 
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments

Science: Nutrition Final this week (during science class)

Food Inc. Project: Project presentation dates: Pre 2 (2/11) and Regular (2/13)

Other Important Information

Mock Interviews: February 27th (8:30~9:30)  Thank you to Mr. Tam, Mr. Cruz, Mrs. Pope, Mr. Surney, Mrs. Carrillo, and Mrs. Bordges for volunteering to “interview” the students.  If you would like to help, please let us know!  The more volunteers we have, the less students everyone needs to interview plus the students will receive more one on one time too!

Internships: March 16-18th.  Students do not come to school, but go to their internship/job shadow for these 3 days.  See attached documents for more information.
