Humanities:
  • Vocabulary Assignment #4: due on Wednesday
  • Writing Assignment #4: partner project – investigating food borne disease then create a skit; due Friday
  • Current Events Assignments #4/5: group project – produce a newspaper after researching assigned topic; research/data due Thursday
  • Reading & Reflections (Literature book The Omnivore’s Dilemma); due Friday
  • MobyMax Language: 30 minutes; due Fridays
  • Vocabulary & Literature Quizzes: Fridays
  • RJW #6 (based on nonfiction book); due Thursday
  • Writer’s Workshop – work on portfolio and reflections
  • Passion Project – researching and working through requirements
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments

Math: 

  • Math Homework (CPM/Other) – every day
  • MobyMax and/or Khan: 45 minutes a week, due on Mondays
  • Fact Fluency: 20 minutes a week (until tested out), due on Fridays
  • Fridays: math quizzes 
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments

Science: Nutrition (labs, journaling, lectures, projects)

Food Inc. Project: researching and creating powerpoint.  Practice presentation is this Thursday (project slides should be done and ready for teacher feedback).

Other Important Information
 
January 30th – Study Trip: This Thursday, January 30th from 8:15~2:30pm, we will be exploring the “Gourmet Ghetto” in Berkeley.  This trip is to expose the students to restaurants which promote local and sustainable food models.  Thank you to Mrs. MacCallister, Mr. or Mrs. Carrillo, Mrs. Bordges, Mrs. Barnes, Mrs. Pope, and Mrs. Moon for driving. We are good to go on drivers…thank you!
