Thank you Volunteers!
A huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers that helped with our International Potluck in December. We appreciate everyone’s hard work with cooking, serving, and cleaning. The potluck is a very special event in Intermediate and we couldn’t do it without you!
Instrumental Music Performance is coming up!
The winter instrumental music concert is coming up on Jan. 30. All instrumental music students need to be practicing their instrument daily. Students feel more confident about this performance when they have practiced at home regularly. Please encourage your instrumental music student to practice every day!
A note from Mrs. Vela: It’s almost Winter Concert time! Since the ACA II Winter Instrumental Music Concert is this month, it is quite important that all performers remember to bring their instruments and music to school and to not miss any music lessons!! The concert is on Thursday, January 30 at John Muir School. All families, friends and other students are invited to attend. Practice at home so that you do your best!!
Young Authors begins this week!
This week students are beginning their Young Authors books. This year, Intermediate students are writing an autobiography. Students will be given the requirements for this project in writing class this week. It is very important that students keep up with their writing assignments on time in order to complete their book by Intermediate Celebration Night in April. Look for more information to go home next month about materials for book covers. The timeline for assignments will be posted on the website.
From the Family Network:
VOLUNTEERING AT ACA II
Parent involvement is an integral part of the mission of ACA II. From the inception of our
school, parents at ACA II have given countless hours to ensure the continued success of our
program. ACA II relies on parent volunteers to assist in the development and ongoing success of our program. Families are encouraged to donate 40 hours of volunteer time per school year.
We are beginning to form teams to work on some of our biggest and best events. ACA II would love your help and there are even jobs that can be done from home! Consider joining one of these teams to get those volunteer hours in while helping put together memorable events for our school.
Walkathon- Generally takes place around the end of March. This is one of our school’s biggest fundraisers which supports or General Fund.
Family Formal- April 3: This is our schools take on the traditional mother/son, father/daughter dance. This social event was a hit last year and we would love to continue the tradition.
Silent Auction- Typically takes place in the beginning of May. This is another big fundraiser for our schools General Fund.
*If you are interested in joining one or more of the teams please email acaiifnb@gmail.com
