Week #3 – Victorian Times
Humanities:
- Writing Assignment #3: come prepared to present your character sketch to the class; due Friday
- Current Events #3: come dressed in character for the party; due Friday
- Victorian Unit Final: Thursday
- Little Women Play: come prepared to read/act in the play this week – during class.
- MobyMax Language: 30 minutes a week. Due Friday
- RJW: none this week
- Writer’s Workshop – work on portfolio (pieces with reflections)
- Passion Project – researching and working through requirements
- In class instructions & possible additional assignments
Math:
- Math Homework (CPM/Other) – check pace chart; due each day
- MobyMax and/or Khan: 45 minutes a week, due on Mondays
- Fact Fluency: 20 minutes a week (until tested out), due on Fridays
- Thursday: math quizzes
- In class instructions & possible additional assignments
Victorian Times Project: prepare for Party on December 20th (character sketch, letter of introduction, costume, etiquette, etc)
Science: Theme “Risk”. Group Poster Project due this week on your Science day

Other Important Information
Secret Santa: the students requested to have a Secret Santa Exchange at the end of the Victorian party, and drew names last week. If your student drew a name, they are now obligated to bring a gift. Students need to wrap gifts in Victorian style (fabric, brown paper, old fashion paper, etc – not in “modern” christmas paper – you can use paper grocery bags with the writing towards the inside). Make sure this happens..thank you.
Victorian Party (December 20th) from 8:15-12pm: Students are required to come in some type of Victorian era costume for the Final (Party). They will present their character, participate in Victorian entertainment, then have a sit down meal.
If you signed up to send in food, please make sure it is ready to serve. It does not need to be in a “pretty” dish. We will be plating the food for the students. But please make sure it is ready to be plated (slice & diced if needed).
