ANTIOCH CHARTER ACADEMY II
The mission of the Antioch Charter Academies is to facilitate academic and personal growth of TK‐8th grade students of all socio‐economic levels and ethnic backgrounds. ACA enables 21st century students to become literate, self‐motivated, innovative, lifelong learners, and compassionate, collaborative active citizens. We nurture and support a partnership of students, teachers, families and the community; embrace individual strengths; and build upon research informed educational best practices including Montessori, multiple intelligences, brain‐compatible teaching, and multi‐age groupings with small class sizes
To provide a learning environment where students of all socio‐economic levels and ethnic backgrounds embrace education, exhibit compassion, and accept personal responsibility

Get your drink and some popcorn, this is a long one with a lot of great information!!
9:15 Late Start Friday, November 1st
Based on parent requests, the staff made November 1st a late start day instead of a traditional minimum day. Historically, the school has a high tardy rate on the day after Halloween, so staff thought it would be a win-win to start school later to allow students a bit of extra time to sleep. School will begin at 9:15 and go until 2:00. Students will have 3 rotations of Fantastic Friday instead of all 4.
Several teachers and an aide will be on campus at 8:00 on Friday the 1st to supervise students whose parents need to drop them off at regular start time. Students will play until 9:15 when school starts.
Daylight savings time is coming! Sunday, November 3, we will all “fall back” by one hour. Although we all love gaining that extra hour, that small 60-minute shift can have a rough effect on students. It can throw off their sleep, appetite, attention span, mood, and more. It can take up to a week for a child’s internal clock to reset.
This past weekend we had to send out announcements about the power outage through Remind and Gradelink. If you still have not filled out the Enroll-Me updates in Gradelink please do it now. It is very important that we have your current information for instances like this. If you need your log-in information again please contact the office.

Students should be able to walk and move around normally in their costume. Weapon accessories are also banned from the Halloween Party and should not be brought to school.
