Week #7 Middle Ages – Last Week of Unit

Humanities:

  • Current Events Assignments: Museum; students will teach younger grades about their Archive Projects; Monday & Tuesday
  • Unit Final – Thursday; final is on Crispin, Middle Ages Projects, and in-class lectures/readings.  Students are allowed to bring a 4 x 6 index card with their notes to final.
  • Reflections & Golden Lines (based on Literature book) – last chance to turn in for credit; due Thursday
  • RJW (based on free choice book – last chance to turn in for credit (#1-6); due Thursday
  • Writer’s Workshop – work on portfolio
  • Passion Project – researching and working through requirements
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments
    • Medieval Banquet this Friday, Oct 4th.  THANK YOU to all the parents who signed up!  Please send in the items Friday Morning!
    • Students need to come prepared to play their role (ask your student what role they are playing)
    • Also THANK YOU to Mr. & Mrs. Corrion, Mr. & Mrs. Bordges, and Mr. Isenbarger for volunteering to help with the banquet! Please be here by 9am to help set-up

Math: 

  • Math Homework (CPM/Other) – every day
  • MobyMax and/or Khan: 45 minutes a week, due on Mondays
  • Fact Fluency: 20 minutes a week (until tested out), due on Fridays
  • Fridays: math quizzes (none this week)
  • In class instructions & possible additional assignments

Middle Ages Project: students received their grades last Friday.  Grades will also be on report cards

Science: Egg Drop – come prepared on Thursday for the Egg Drop experiment.

EE – Big Break

 
Other Important Information:
  • 8th Grade Girls “Empowerment Project” on Tuesday, October 15th from 8:30~1:30pm.  At CCC Fairgrounds. Lunch included.
  • Wednesday, October 16th 8:50~2:30pm study trip to Mondavi Center/UC Davis to hear NASA Astronaut Terry Virts give his presentation, “A View From Above”.  Afterwards, we will have a short walk around UC Davis, then eat our sack lunches (send sack lunch). This trip will tie into our next humanities & science units. Thank you to Mrs. MacCallister, Mrs. Kaifi, Mrs. Cruz, Mr. Bordges, Mrs. Carrillo, and Mrs. Moon for driving. Drivers, please be here by 8:40am.
