Meet and Greet

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Meet and Greet. If you missed it, please be sure to turn in any beginning of school paperwork to the office. You can also bring school supplies during the first week of school!

First Week of School

A friendly reminder that the first day of school is Wednesday August 14th. It is a minimum day, which means that school will begin at 8:15am and end at 12:00pm. Thursday August 15th and Friday August 16th are minimum days as well. Please remember that the fairground gates open at 8:00am and that all students must be picked up by 12:15pm.

Snack in Intermediate

A reminder for new parents and seasoned veteran parents alike, students in Intermediate are expected to bring their own snack to school. Please remember that students are expected to bring a healthy snack (no chips or cookies please!) and will be invited to eat snack between 9:00am and 11:00am every morning. Students are often hungry the first day of school so please remember to send them with a snack!

Hot Lunch for Minimum Days

Hot lunch is available to order for minimum days the first week of school. Please contact the office if you would like to order hot lunch for your child for the first week of school. Please remember that the procedure for getting lunch on minimum days includes students getting their hot lunch from the office and eating lunch on campus in the courtyard. Hot lunch may not be taken off campus.

New Parent Orientation/Back to School Night

Intermediate will host both a New Parent Orientation and a Back to School Night on Wednesday August 21st. New Parent Orientation will be from 5:30pm-6:30pm and Back to School Night will immediately follow at 6:30pm.

All 4th grade parents are highly recommended to attend New Parent Orientation at 5:30 and stay for Back to School Night. Families that have had a student in Intermediate within the last three years do not need to attend New Parent Orientation, but are urged to attend Back to School Night as new information about our program and important reminders will be presented.

Bring Supply List supplies the first week of school!

All supply list supplies are important for student success. Please send school supplies with your student the first week of school so they can start the year prepared. Especially important are the notebooks that will be the students’ Reader’s Response Journal, Math Journal, and Science Journal. The trapper keeper should also be coming to school with students every day! Remember that your student’s research binder can stay at home until the research project due date. If you are unable to find an item, need help purchasing an item, or have questions about an item, please email us at

Label all belongings please!

Please be sure that your student’s name is on all of their personal belongings so that they do not get confused with another student’s. Supplies, sweatshirts, and personal items often go missing in the first few weeks if they do not have a name displayed on them.

Elective Teachers/Volunteers Needed

We need volunteers to supervise/teach electives for our 4th-8th grade students. This is a vital part of our program allowing students to enjoy and be introduced to varied experiences. Some past popular electives and new ideas include: outdoor sports, board games, photography, recycle art, drama, woodworking, gardening, ultimate Frisbee, cooking, special effects makeup, film making/editing, costume design, choir, zumba, foreign language, fun with science, fundraising, and video game design. We encourage new ideas too!

If you have a special talent you are willing to share or can supervise an activity on one of our elective days, please let us know ASAP.   You can email to let us know which day and type of activity interests you.

Electives are offered Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:00-3:00. 1st trimester electives will begin August 26th! You can volunteer for one or multiple trimesters. It’s a great way to support our students and meet your volunteer hours!
