Trimester 2 Report Card Conferences
Thank you to all of the families that joined us for conferences last week! We enjoyed meeting with you to discuss all of the exciting progress our students have made this year.
Trimester 3 has begun!
Today marked the first day of the third trimester. Students were placed in new elective and specialty groups. If you have any questions about your child’s elective schedule, please let us know.
Science Fair Projects
At this point, students should be collecting the results from their science fair experiments. We are halfway through our science fair project timeline. Please be sure your student stays caught up with their project! All science fair projects will be on display at Intermediate Celebration Night on April 27th along with each student’s Young Authors book and projects from the Walk-Through.
REMINDER: students should be collecting the materials they need for their covers. Students may make a fabric cover or a cardstock Here is a description of what your student needs to bring in if they are making a fabric cover so that they can bind their book:
2 pieces of cardboard or foam board (called foamies-soft/flexible):
8 ½ X 11 or 9 x 12 size, at least 6mm or ¼ inch thick, thin foam will not work
½ yard of cotton fabric (the 18 x 21 inch fabric squares are big enough):
Please no fuzzy fabric, felt, or fabric with holes, it will not stick to the glue
ACA II Walk-a-Thon
Mark your Calendars…… WALK-A-THON DAY: Friday, March 31st!!
The Walk-a-thon Team is working hard to make this year’s event very special for your student!
It’s not too early to talk to family and friends about becoming a sponsor! We will have official forms and packets coming out soon, and we are using 99Pledges.com for our online donation collection again this year. Look for more details to come!
We are currently looking for small items for the goodie bags (for 200 students), and/or more significant raffle items. Small raffle items can be combined with other donations to create a significant raffle prize. No item too small! For example: a pair of movie tickets, a Starbuck’s gift card and a new water bottle combined make a nice raffle prize! These donations can be dropped off in the office anytime! Please clearly mark all items.
Intermediate CAASPP Testing
Intermediate will take the California state assessments (CAASPP) during the two weeks after spring break (April 17th-28th). Students will be on a scheduled testing rotation and will take the assessments over the course of the two weeks. Students will take only one assessment per day. Intermediate testing will occur in the morning and afternoons will stay the same with SSR, music, and electives. Please contact your child’s teacher with specific questions about CAASPP testing.
