Trimester 2 Report Card Conferences
Report Card conferences for the second trimester will be March 6th-10th. As with previous years, conferences will not be requested for all students. We sent out invitations to conferences just before break, so please let us know if you did not receive an email about conferences. If your child’s teacher is not requesting a conference, you may either request a conference or elect to receive your child’s report card without a conference. The links to teacher conference schedules are as follows:

Trimester 2 late work is due this week!
All late work from the 2nd trimester must be turned in this week in order for it to count towards report cards. Mrs. Gonzalez’s skills group must have work in by Tuesday, while Miss Albertoni’s and Miss Dubitsky’s skills groups must have work in by Thursday. Please remind your student to turn in any missing work, including research projects so that they may get credit.
Science Fair has begun!
For the next six weeks our students will be working on their science fair projects. A green packet of information has gone home with them outlining the project. All science fair projects will be on display at Intermediate Celebration Night on April 27th along with each student’s Young Authors book and projects from the Walk-Through.
Please read the attached letter with information about how you can help you student complete their Young Authors book. Here is a description of what your student needs to bring in so that they can bind their book:
In the past, students have enjoyed creating covers for their books. If your student would like to do this, they will need to bring 2 pieces of cardboard 8 ½ X 11 size or foam board (called foamies-soft/flexible) Many students like the foamies much better . They also need ½ yard of any fabric they choose for their cover. If your student does not wish to bind their book this way, they can choose to bring in 2 sheets of white card stock paper for the cover and back (good idea to send a few extra in case of mistakes). In this case the cover will have the title, the student’s name, and an illustration. We have some binding combs and a machine to bind them.
If you haven’t heard, our campus flooded over the break. Our rooms are always spared because they sit up high, but there was a few inches of water that ran through the basketball court and the courtyard. The water left behind a layer of mud. With last night’s rain, the mud was all over the ground this morning. Many students had muddy feet when they entered the classroom. It might be a good idea to send your student with older shoes or rain boots while the mud and dirt go through the process of getting washed away.
ACA II Walk-a-Thon
Mark your Calendars…… WALK-A-THON DAY: Friday, March 31st!!
The Walk-a-thon Team is working hard to make this year’s event very special for your student!
It’s not too early to talk to family and friends about becoming a sponsor! We will have official forms and packets coming out soon, and we are using 99Pledges.com for our online donation collection again this year. Look for more details to come!
We are currently looking for small items for the goodie bags (for 200 students), and/or more significant raffle items. Small raffle items can be combined with other donations to create a significant raffle prize. No item too small! For example: a pair of movie tickets, a Starbuck’s gift card and a new water bottle combined make a nice raffle prize! These donations can be dropped off in the office anytime! Please clearly mark all items.
Our next team meeting is Wednesday, March 1st at 3:15pm. Find out how you can be a part of this awesome event!
Gardening Class donations needed
If you have an old unwanted pair of child size rain boots would you please send them with your student to ACA II so that the garden club can use them for a project? We are going to hang them in the garden with your child’s name on it or you can donate some for other students. Thank you very much.
